IWantToBeAParent.com is an educational and orientation resource operated by Egg Donor & Surrogacy Institute (EDSI). This policy describes the information this website handles and the technology it uses.
Who operates this website
This website is operated by Egg Donor & Surrogacy Institute (EDSI), located in Beverly Hills, California. EDSI coordinates the family-building process for intended parents. Questions about this policy can be directed to EDSI through eggdonorandsurrogacy.com.
Pending owner / legal review: Confirm the legal entity name, mailing address and the privacy contact email or form that should be published here.
Information you provide
This website does not contain account registration, payment processing or a form that submits your answers to us. The questions in the Journey Finder (“Where are you today?” and “Where are you based?”) are answered in your browser only.
If you choose to use one of the contact actions on this site, you will share information directly through that channel:
- Private consultation: the button opens an external scheduling page at consult.eggdonorandsurrogacy.com. Anything you enter there is handled by that scheduling service and by EDSI, not by this website.
- Text a real person: the button opens your own messaging app with a message addressed to +1 310-984-1767. If you send it, your mobile number and message are received by EDSI through your mobile carrier. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
Pending owner / legal review: Confirm how consultation submissions and inbound text messages are stored, who has access, how long they are retained, and whether the scheduling provider’s own privacy policy should be linked here.
Information stored in your browser
This website uses your browser’s sessionStorage, which is cleared when you close the tab:
- Your answers to the two Journey Finder questions, so your personalized result stays available while you browse.
- Campaign parameters present in the link you arrived through — for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, gclid, fbclid, gbraid and wbraid. These are kept for the session so that, if you open the consultation page, they can be passed along to indicate which campaign referred you.
- Your analytics consent choice, so you are not asked again during the same session.
This information stays in your browser. It is not combined by this website with your name or contact details.
Analytics and consent
On the production website, EDSI uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors move through the journey tool. Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. Until then, Google Consent Mode signals are set to denied for analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization, and no analytics tag is loaded.
When you accept, the events recorded describe interactions rather than identity: viewing a result, selecting the consultation action, and selecting the text action. The parameters sent with them describe the situation and location you selected, the result state, and where on the page the action was taken. Campaign identifiers such as gclid and the utm parameters are not sent as custom analytics parameters.
This website does not run advertising, remarketing or personalized-ads tags. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” control in the footer.
Google’s handling of Analytics data is described in Google’s own privacy documentation at policies.google.com/privacy.
Sharing
This website does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information reaches third parties only through the services described above: Google Analytics when you consent, the external scheduling provider when you open the consultation page, and your mobile carrier when you send a text message.
Pending owner / legal review: Confirm this statement against EDSI’s actual practices, and confirm whether a CCPA/CPRA “Do Not Sell or Share” notice, an authorized-agent process, or additional disclosures are required for EDSI as a California business.
Your choices
- Decline or withdraw analytics consent at any time via “Cookie settings”.
- Clear the stored session information by closing the browser tab.
- Use your browser or device settings to block cookies and similar technologies.
Pending owner / legal review: Confirm the specific data-subject rights language and response process to publish for California (CCPA/CPRA), the EEA/UK (GDPR) and other regions EDSI serves.
Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
